Everyone Loves Cake….

So with spring in full effect, I thought why not start off the fresh month of April with a sweet treat!

As some of you may have guessed from my name ‘Lemon Cake’, I like cake, ALOT! I did do a ‘Little Lemon Cakery’ blog last year but the cakes all got too much to juggle with the rest of my life! So for now, that side of my life is dormant but I still enjoy baking at weekends, for friends birthdays, occasions and looking at other peoples amazing creations!

Here I have collated a list of my favourite sneaker related cakes from over the last couple of years for you guys to enjoy….

MJ’s JORDAN IV BIRTHDAY CAKE

Perhaps the oldest Sneaker Cake in the history of sneaker cakes, was Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 4 Cake that was presented to him by his Madukes and Pops back in 89′!

TIFFANY NIKE SB DUNK BIRTHDAY CAKE


Sneakerhead Matt Jae from LA celebrated in fashion in December 2011 with an incredibly accurate Nike ‘Tiffany’ SB replica cake! My personal favourite SB too!

AIR JORDAN 11 BLACK/RED GROOM’S WEDDING CAKE

Now this one has to be my absolute favourite! It was made my Texas based Sandia Horng aka @WhiskThis and this was actually her first ever sneaker cake, can you believe it!

“The Bride wanted to surprise her fiancée Mike with an awesome Grooms Cake for their wedding and came up with this idea. She said that this was Mike’s absolute favorite sneaker! We talked about several concepts but in the end she gave me full trust on the whole design. So I made an Air Jordan sneaker shoe box along with the shoe to display in front of the box.” – Sandia Horng

Nike Air Foamposite One “Dark Neon Royal” & ‘Galaxy’ Birthday Cakes


Feast your eyes pon’ deez! I had to look a few times and check that this actually was a cake because it looks so close to the real thing its scary!

And again another Foamposite but this time in the form of the recently hyped ‘Galaxy’. These also look too real to be edible! As a fellow baker, I know I need work on my icing modelling techniques, and I’d LOVE to know how to create the galaxy print effect!



I dont know about you but I’d love to dig into this French vanilla flavoured freshness, made by ‘Made Fresh Daily Cakes’

Valentines Kicks…..

So the International day of Luuuurv has arrived, and who said it has to be all about that special ‘person’? Why not appreciate your feet and love your kicks!

I spent all morning drinking hot water & lemon, looking at Valentine’s inspired kicks and listening to the DJ Kydro Show ‘Valentines Special’! Sounds like a pretty good start to the day right? To top it all off I’ll be loving my feet on the ramps later in my red skates tonight for the TNS (Tuesday Night Skate) @ UKSKATE in Stockport!

Jordan IV “23rd Anniversary” Rumours..

2012 just keeps getting better and better for Jordan heads! You will have already seen from previous posts that there are some dope drops on the way this year – so in addition to the 2 confirmed pairs of Air Jordan Retro IV’s returning , now we hear some rumours are swirling around of another Jordan IV release?

Air Jordan Retro White/Varsity Red-Black

A new “23rd Anniversary” colorway of the Air Jordan IV is hopefully set to release sometime during this year, but there is some uncertainty as to whether this will be the same as another Air Jordan IV (last released in 2006) in a White/Varsity Red-Black…. I hope it has Spike Lee on the back again!

As nothing is concrete yet, keep checking here for updates!

I was watching Alan Carr last night and the first guest was Tinie Tempah. I’m not particularly well versed in his music but his sneaker choice last night was PERFECTION!

Nike Air Jordan 6 ‘Black/Varsity Red’

I have been waiting for this day for a seriously long time and on Tuesday, they arrived! My 2011 Retro Jordan 3 GS Black/Cement beasts!

So as you can see, the sneaker is sitting on the GS Jordan box (which upsets me a bit as I love the mens cement box) and doesn’t come with the little Jordan tag.. WHY CAN’T YOU TREAT LITTLE FEET THE SAME!
Irrelevant of that, the sneakers are amazing, with only a few differences to the adult version. These are the 2 red eyelets (instead of 3), the flat jumpman on the heel and the panel above the air unit being slightly shinier.

None of the differences bother me, the leather is premium, soft and looks so tasty. This really is an all round perfect basketball sneaker and looks incredible on both small and big feet.
These Jordan’s will also look perfect with black and white leopard print leggings and a black tee.. I’ve worn them with plain black skinny jeans, a light grey hoody and my new Carhartt Jacket.. a perfect outfit (in my opinion).
I can’t wait to wear these ALL THE TIME! Totally in love with my new J3′s.
Get yours in GS sizes from any Jordan retailer NOW! For all you big footed people.. you’ll have to wait a week or so!

The 2011 Air Jordan V Retro “Black/Varsity Red/Metallic Silver” drops THIS Friday 19th August!

The OG sneaker returns to celebrate its 21st birthday and is just as fresh as the original. The Jumpman logo on the bottom of the shoe has been updated from black to “Varsity Red”, the nubuck looks softer than ever and the clear sole makes it look as if you’re walking on ice! I’m in love!

Foot Patrol in London will be stocking sizes UK6 upwards, but when this drop hits retailers across the pond on Saturday 20th August, sizes will include GS, PS and Toddler so the whole family can get involved! Keep it Big Eyes for updates on the little sole releases!

Jordan 6 Finally!

I’ve been trying to get these J6′s for SO LONG now.. they either sold out before I could get them or I just couldn’t find any in my size..

UNTIL..

I got these!! Deadstock from a well known high-street sneaker store!

Nike Air Jordan 6 Retro GS ‘Black/Varsity Red’



The black suede upper is seriously smooth and the varsity red toggle, branding and insert on the midsole totally make the sneaker for me!
I prefer this silhouette to the 7, it’s a lot less futuristic and more of a timeless shape.
One feature I particularly like, (but wasn’t sure I would) is the tongue. It just adds something to the shoe that makes it more sporty and gives the Jordan some added texture.

Another feature I really love on every sneaker is branding on the heel that blends with the colour of the panel it sits on. Don’t ask me why, but there’s something satisfying about it! So these clearly are perfect for me!

I love my 6′s!
