I’ve recently got back from New York and Miami and after dealing with the post holiday blues I thought I’d show you the kicks I picked up!
I didn’t go mad as my plans were to spend most of my money on food so here they are!
Nike Air Max 95 GS ‘Cool Grey/Cool Grey-Volt-Black’
Vans Sk8-Hi ‘Black/Black’
I definitely ended up with two pairs of shoes from opposite ends of the spectrum! The Air Max 95s are in a colourway I’d not seen over in the UK and the grey suede upper is so soft it drew me in instantly.. To top it all off, the volt outsole, laces, sock liner and branding made this shoe stand out for MILES! Not only did they massively accentuate my tan by the end of the holiday but people stared at them wherever I went! I love these 95s!
Now onto the SK8-His. It seems that every time I buy a pair of SK8-His the main colour of their upper is black. Don’t ask me why but I guess it’s just a running theme! These may seem plain and boring compared to the 95s BUT I think they look amazing with everything: dresses, skirts, shorts, jeans… EVERYTHING!
One thing I noticed whilst in America is not only that way more girls were wearing trainers and that Jordan’s are the shoe of choice for most sneaker heads out there.. But that there’s just so much more choice for those of us with smaller feet.
Anyway.. what I want to know is.. What kicks have you copped lately?

If, like me, you are a fan of the Vans Sk8-Hi LX, you are going to absolutely love these dapper upgrades of the classic silhouette. Vans Vault has spruced things up a little and given us a fresh take on the original 1978 kicks, with the Vans Vault Sk8-Hi LX ‘Notchback’.
With full nubuck uppers in a choice of mustard, slate and royal blue colours, these smart kicks are combined with a white vulcanized midsole and finished off with waxed black laces. The heel of this modern version is cut slightly lower than we’d usually see, giving the sneaker it’s ‘Notchback’ nickname.
Due to drop at Vans Vault accounts in June, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that these beauties will be available for us Little Soles!

Whether it’s animal print, aztec, stripes or polka dots, I love patterns. I definitely have a thing for blog colour, but when you team that with some kind or patterned print, I think it makes for a perfect outfit!
Paying respect to the founder of the company, James Van Doren, this series of shoes, by the looks of things, will be made up of a Skate-Hi, an Era and a Slip-On. I’m not sure whether this is it though, there may be more additions to the pack, but the suede on canvas mix adds a little something extra. Out of the three we’ve been teased with, the Era is definitely my favourite but I’m guessing these won’t drop in small sizes (keeping my fingers crossed that they do though!)
Next up is the Pendleton x Vans x Nibwaakaawin for 2012 All Nations Skate Jam collaboration. All for a good cause, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this collab will go towards Nibwaakaawin’s efforts working towards motivating Native American youth through skateboarding. These will be exclusively available at the Gathering of Nations Powwow and the 2012 All Nations Skate Jam in Albuquerque. The purple based Sk8-Hi and Old Skool are my pick of the bunch but I’m not a massive fan of the slip-on as a shoe in general.

When Summer comes, my Black/White Vans Authentic’s and my Vintage Surf Mahogany Era’s are staple shoes.. perfect for the beach or just for walking around in the day or night. When Winter hits, I pull out my Sk8 Hi’s or Half Cabs to keep my feet warm whilst being two of the most comfortable shoes I own.
I’ve been thinking that I haven’t picked up a nice pair of Era’s in a while and just my luck.. Vans are releasing a Two Tone pack consisting of a Half Cab, An Era and a 106 Vulc.. So much choice!

People always say that black and blue don’t go.. but I’ve never understood it.. My favourite of the three is the Half Cab, there’s just something about the placement of the two colours against each other and also how lush the suede across the front of the toe box looks that have drawn me in! I definitely think the colours used within this two tone pack work really well together.
I’m doubtful that these will drop in sizes small enough for me.. but if you pick any up, send us pics!

Available in Black/Black (yesss!) or Black/Loden, these kicks boast a leather and extra heavy canvas upper. They also feature a waxed lining which is perfect for keeping the shoe airtight, warm and protected against all the elements!

I don’t really do the Vans thing. Van Damme maybe, he really played that Gibson Rickenbacker role in Cyborg to perfection. Gio van Bronckhorst was ok too. I mean he wasn’t great but he was a good sort, nobody ever really had a bad word to say about him. I always thought he favoured Schwarzenneg, which is truly gutting for him but he never let it get in his way. Fair play. I wonder if he’d be interested in these Vans Sk8 Hi Boat LX sneakers which are dropping in Spring? Gio, not Schwarzenneg.
