I’m a sucker for the Cortez, probably from watching Forrest Gump a million times. Not too showy or techy, they just sit nice and light on your feet and aren’t on that ‘hype’ shelf (god forbid, I hate that word). Just a bit of classic nylon and suede…no fuss.
I’m not usually a go-er for floral but something about these just gets me. An instore only from Kith NYC …one can only dream!
Ever since these beasts dropped last summer I’ve been desperate to get my mitts on them, finally nearly a year on I managed to bag them off eBay for a small sum. I love this silhouette an insane amount, plus I’m overly excited about wearing the same kicks that Charles Barkley did during the 1992 Olympics. These are now a firm favourite in my collection.
Nike Air Force 180 Mid ‘Phoenix Suns’ 2012
These are another colourway that I was hoping to pick up last year but missed due to being away for 5 months. The contrast between the speckled midsole and all black upper is so dope and these shoes really stand out for me.
Beaches of Rio Pack Nike Air Max 90 EM 2013
These kicks speak for themselves, this whole pack was pretty ill but these stood out to me over the Air Max 1s as I feel the 1s look slightly odd without any kind of panneling. These AM90s are the perfect summer colourway with the engineered mesh material making them light and breathable for those hot summer days. These are a real neck breakers and I can’t wait for sunnier weather to give these their first outing.
Nike Air Huarache LE ACG Pack 2007
I’ve have been coveting this colourway since I peeped someone wearing them on instagram a couple of years ago, I finally managed to pick them up from @jkdptg on instagram in VNDS condition. You should all know by now that I can’t resist a speckled sole and the teal/yellow clash really sets these off.
That’s all for this installment, show us your latest pickups by hitting us up on twitter at @bigeyeslittlesoles or by tagging #bigeyeslittlesoles on instagram.
It was round about last month that I was on the hunt for my pair of ‘Summer kicks”. The sun finally turned out for pretty much all of us in the UK, guaranteed thoughts turned to our wardrobe! My eyes were peeled all over the place, then I suddenly had thoughts of my last TRUSTY pair of AM90′s that I’d sold after literally living in them the whole of summer 2012. All these memories just rushing back! Decision made, 90′s Summer crepes need to be got!
Telling all the ladies they’ve got size 3-6, so I had to share that on the Big Eyes Facebook page.
The colourways on these are just silly jazzy, all three elidgable for a purchase. Now, I am incredibly lucky with my shoe size UK 6 – the most average plain sailing, level pegging, loving life sized feet you’re going to meet. I can get most releases if I want. Unfortunately being a pauper art student, I can’t strictly afford all the crepes I’d love to, as it’s usually spent on hundreds of rolls of film, sketchbooks and all that malarkey.
About a week later, I visited Selfridges in the Bullring, had a little meander round, of course going to the Offspring concession (Birmingham being my home town). They had the 90′s of choice in. I had to buy them straight away, no hesitation! Do they fit me? Yes, thank you here’s my money, and a student discount? Thank you very much!
The speckeled base on the toe box and around the ankle and the camo colours really fit in well with other colour schemes I wear. They had both the ice blue and the metallic silver, but I HAD to go with the camo ones. Both available at Wellgosh still, from sizes 3-6 (links above).
Here they are in action, at my studio space! Infamous furniture in there also!
I popped into Footlocker recently to have a mooch at what goodies they had to offer for my Little Soles. To my delight, not one, not two, but three pairs of Nike Air Max 1 GS were staring me in the face.
I had a dilemma… I wanted them all. After soon realising that actually, this wasn’t such a huge dilemma, I got them all.
I had a spare pair of Reebok x Alife laces, which I think look great teamed with the subtle black-on-black safari print of these summer essentials. The blue accents and outsole of the toe area are a nice bright touch.
I’m not usually a fan of gold, or silver for that matter, on sneakers, but I’ve now figured out that this is because usually they’re metallic. The matte gold swoosh alongside the red accents have made these treats one of my favourite pairs in my collection.
The team orange accents and outsole around the toe area of these beasts made me fall in love with them instantly. Again, the use of a subtle grey-on-grey safari print is present, this time just on the swoosh, giving an extra little pop to an already-great colourway.
Nike have treated us AGAIN with the up and coming release of the Air Max FB ‘Leopard’ pack. The pack includes two colour-ways (blue and orange) that both feature a suede upper with an all-over leopard print and a neon sole; two trends we’ve seen a lot of over the past few months.
I’ll definitely be aiming to get my hands on the orange pair. Keep your eyes peeled for a confirmed release date soon.
Nike have treated us all again with another Liberty collaboration, this time covering some timeless Nike silhouettes with iconic floral prints ‘Capel’ and ‘Pepper’ from the Liberty fashion house. The beloved Air Max 1, Roshe Run and Blazed Mid have all been updated with the floral prints just in time for summer.
The selection are also available to customise over on Nike iD with a larger size run and the option of more colours and accents for the same price as the standard collection.
We all remember the New Balance x Sneaker Freaker ‘Tassie Devil’ release that sent sneaker heads queuing round the block in March… well….. now the Sneaker Freaker fam have unveiled a fresh, new colorway of the Air Max 1.
Flexing an suede upper sporting 3 different shades of purple and a classic white midsole these babies really are a sight for sore eyes.
Stay locked to Big Eyes Little Soles for further release information…
AWFUL title, but hey, let’s not beat around the bush – I just wanted to get on and remind you all that the day is almost upon us! This is gonna be me tomorrow… learn from the OG don:
The Air Jordan V ‘Grape’ is an original Air Jordan V colorway, which has so far seen one retro release in 2006. Back again for 2013, the Air Jordan V ‘Grape’ is one of the most highly anticipated drops for the heads of the sneaker world this year!
Available in a full size run (YAY FOR THE LITTLE SOLES) you can cop these treats from our friends at Wellgosh, either in-store in Leicester, or on their website, from 8:00am on Saturday 4th May (tomorrow!). Be quick, because I tell you now, these badboys will not be sticking around on the shelves for long.
Nike drop the a new Roshe style and honestly when I first saw these I thought I’d fallen through a portal and woke up in 2050.
The Roshe Run Metric is super slick and minimalistic, featuring a wipe clean and rubbery looking all over geo ’tiling’. No white mesh to get soiled by dirty club juice, not that I go out that much anymore!
Watch out for these…coming soon to key Nike Sportswear stockists.
