Another GS 90!

2012 really has been a good year for sneaker pick ups but a bad year for my bank account!

This release, now available from Shelta will definitely make a dent in my wallet but leave me with smiling feet!

Nike Air Max 90 GS ‘Neutral Grey/Blue/Volt’
I hate the ever changing weather in London and having a leather upper on a shoe makes life so much easier as they wipe clean in an instant. The upper on this release is made entirely from leather and the grey accents are totally offset by the white Swoosh and branding, the Volt air unit and of course the blue outsole. These are four Colours I wouldn’t normally put together but in this instance, they look just right!

From above, the shoe looks muted and toned down but to those walking next to or behind you, it will be a totally different story!

Latest Additions

Here’s my latest additions…

Nike WMNS Blazer Mid LR ‘Black/Anthracite/Violet Wash’
I’m a massive fan of the SB Blazer and have never been hugely drawn towards a standard Blazer or the vintage releases. These are the perfect mix! The anthracite padded tongue and heel make them super snug, that vulcanized sole which I love, in a vibrant violet and the snake skin effect Swoosh all work together to make a perfect shoe for wearing day in, day out.

With the Lunarlon addition to the sockliner, these are as comfortable as my SB Blazers, which is something I’ve not been able to find until now!

The colour of the violet sole on the website is incorrect and it looks like a gum sole. Don’t be deceived, I’ve spoken to Nike customer services (who were really helpful) and it’s a mistake on the website. Get yours here.

Reebok WMNS Classic Leather ‘White’
After writing my post the other day about how I miss my old Reebok Classics, the guys over at Reebok got in touch with me and have sent me a pair from their secret stash! Luckily they had my size and I can’t thank them enough! I definitely didn’t start this blog to get freebies, but it really did make my week when they turned up at my house!

As comfy as ever and as simple as I remember, these really do speak for themselves. These will definitely be my Summer staple shoe, but as they’re so hard to find in the all white leather, I’ll only be wearing them when I’m 100% sure they won’t get ruined!

The leather is so soft and makes the shoe feel really premium. I love them!

Nike WMNS Air Max 1 ND Liberty ‘Imperial Purple/Sail’
Well, what can I say about these. The most girlie shoe I own, and totally different from anything I’ve ever had.

I have stayed away from kicks with a vintaged midsole as I think they just look dirty, but these aren’t just yellowed, they’re sail and glossy so it really adds to the feel of the shoe. The fact that they’re a deep purple colour makes them slightly less feminine and the material on the upper of the shoe is perfect. These are such a classy AM1 and I’ll be picking and choosing the right outfits to wear them with. There’s a UK7 and a UK9 left on the Liberty London website but apparently they will be available for general release from Office/Offspring in May so get in touch with your local store and get a pair reserved!

Bring on the Summer!

Something A Little More Ladylike!

It’s clear to see that over at Big Eyes, we aren’t really girlie girls!
We love our sneakers, but pink isn’t the first colour we’d go for. I know in my case, a pair in all black or grey would draw me in straight away!
But these can be an exception..
Nike WMNS Air Max 95 ‘Anthracite/Cherry/Dark Grey’.
There isn’t too much pink or cherry within this AM95 release to put me off and I’d definitely wear them! The anthracite to grey to white side panels sandwiched between the white mesh upper and dark midsole make this sneaker a must have for the cold, dull winter days ahead of us!
I haven’t seen these for sale in the UK yet, but we’ll let you know when we find them!

JORDAN 3s CAUSING CHAOS

I’m a MASSIVE JIII fan, the silhouette looks so rad on little feets!

I didn’t think I could find any better than the fire red/cement, True Blue or Black/Cement colourways, and these come really close!

Nike Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘Kobe Chaos’ Custom

‘Ink/Volt/Dark Grey/White’

Dank Customs have turned a perfect sneaker, somehow into something other worldly! These are FIIYYAHH! Check the sizing.. MINE PLEASE! From what I can gather these were a custom for sneaker site Nice Kicks.

I love a speckled midsole! The deep all black leather upper makes the red sock liner and eyelets really pop. All the different colours on this sneaker work perfectly together!! I wish this was on general release!

MAKE US A BIG EYES PAIR PLEASE!!

Honey Honey

Nike Air Max 1 ‘Honeycomb/Blue Spark’.

Check out these beasts!
2011 really is the year for the Air Max lover!!
How tasty does the honeycomb yellow felt and canvas upper look, just bright enough for a sunny summer’s day!

The blue spark outsole adds something massive to this sneaker, making it not just your every day staple shoe, these are for special occasions! Not to be trashed!!
The white Swoosh and midsole bring this AM1 together perfectly, muting the shoe a tiny bit and bridging the gap between the bright blue and warm yellow, which would usually clash!
These are seriously fresh, I wish they were available in small sizes, but unlucky for us sneaker-ettes, they’re not!

Hot Like Fiiyyah!

Nike Air Pegasus ’92 ‘Hot Pink/White/Grey’

Time for the Pegasus ’92 to shine.. and in a HUGE way!
With a slight colourway resemblance to that of the AM90 Infra, which I love (as you all know), these are SICK!

The black Swoosh and tongue branding seriously makes the worn look white suede and a fiery hot pink rip-stop stand out for miles. This sneaker isn’t women’s but it totally should be.. I’d rock these with pride!!
There’s something about this silhouette that I can’t get enough of. Simple, streamlined and timeless, with that amazing 90s feel. I love runners from that period.
The muted grey/white midsole really works against the vibrant upper.
Come on Nike, do it for the girls release these in my size!!

These Lights

Check them out!!
Nike Air Max Light ‘Black/White/Pink’

Titolo are back again with these beasts..
Although they look like they’ve been made for us ladies, they’re being released from a UK size 6 and up.
The AM Light is a silhouette that I have always had a place for in my heart! There’s something really streamlined about it.
The black suede upper makes the sneaker appear much softer and gives the shoe a serious amount of depth! The two variations of pink work well together and don’t take anything away from the dark upper.
Overall, this AM Light is a triumph! It’s not often that this sneaker show’s itself in new colourways and these were well worth the wait!

Sport, You’re Hired

This is the truly inspirational video created for the Nike Better World Campaign.
Through this campaign, the internationally respected sports brand are aiming to use sport as a format to end issues such as depression, homelessness, disease, discrimination and environmental problems.

This is the Nike Free TR Fit, a sneaker created especially for us women. This shoe is designed to leave a small environmental footprint by using a rubber that is more friendly to our environment. The Free TR Fit is also made with ‘water-based cementing and recycled polyester’. These two materials in the outsole, work in a way to help us get the most from out work out by imitating the natural movement of the foot. I also really like the look of this shoe, I’d definitely get myself a pair to keep fit in!

Another part of the campaign works toward educating the people of Soweto about HIV and keeping them fit through sport all at the same time! In this area of South Africa, Nike have built a football academy that has so far, helped 20,000 young local aspiring footballers to keep fit and play their favourite game with the highest level of coaching, along with lessons about HIV, how to prevent contracting it and how to deal with it.

There are plenty more amazing sides to the campaign, check them out here. Copy/paste the link to this blog post to all of your friends on facebook/twitter and get everyone involved!
