Air Jordan IV – GS Release

Check out this dope GS release of the Air Jordan IV, exclusively for the little feet out there. With my last AJ4 purchase being the Ultraviolet GS release, I think there is definitely room amongst my other Js for these beasts!

I love how the highlighted dynamic blue and vivid pink elements of this colourway pop against the black nubuck upper of these true beauties. For me, although the neon sockliner, eyelets, outsole, lacing and branding combination come together to make these sneakers stand out initially, it’s the pink-on-black speckled midsole that catches your eye second, making your heart melt slightly and helping complete these absolute treats!

Air Jordan IV GS: White – Varsity Red

As a big fan of the Jordan IV, already getting my little feet into both the GS ‘Voltage Cherry’ and ‘White/Cement Grey Retro’ releases already his year, I was both excited and a little bit sad for my shrinking bank balance to hear of this new GS release scheduled for August!

This colourway was last seen in 2006 on the Air Jordan IV 2006 Retro Mars Blackmon. A specially designed Jordan for Spike Lee’s character Mars Blackmon outta ‘She’s Gotta Have It’.

The 2012 release will however come without the Mars Blackmon logo on the heel.

This highly anticipated release is due to drop in August, so I guess plenty of time to save!

It’s the shoes, the shoes? It’s gotta be the shoes…

Worrrrd, chief rocka number one here celebrating the event of finally acquiring my white cement Jordan IVs yesterday afternoon.

Yesterday was a big day for a lot of Jordan heads out there, with the first IV drop of the year. IVs are definitely one of the most popular Jordan silhouettes and a personal favourite of mine. I managed to cop not only a pair of GS Jordan IV White Cements for myself, but a men’s pair for my boo also. Shout out to my girl April for hooking me up with my GS pair, check her twitter here!

Sorry guys, but I have to say I much prefer the GS shoe. The men’s pair seems to feature what I can only describe as a large black splodge in the middle of the midsole, rather than the continuously speckled cement midsole of the GS shoe, and I think it looks kinda odd. The GS version also feature two eyelets on the wings and fewer lace holes which I feel make the shoe itself look much less convoluted. Check it out for yourself below…

Here’s me rocking mine with tribal American Apparel leggings, a Patta tee and Stussy snapback, due to the plain neutral tones these kicks are quite easy to wear, and will go with pretty much any outfit.

A word of advice if you’re copping men’s sizes – these seem to fit quite large so I’d suggest downsizing half a size or a size.

A Tech Shade of Grey

It’s been a while in coming, but it is with great relief that there has finally been confirmation of the GS size drop of one of the most highly anticipated Jordan retros of this year, the Jordan IV “Cement”. Set to release in-line with the mens sizes on February 18th, these will be the Jordan GS release of the year for me.

These retros haven’t been released since 1999, and feature slight variations from the last release: tech grey and black splatters on the heels, midsole and wings; a slightly lower silhouette and the Jumpman logo on the heel rather than the original Nike Air branding.

The contrast between the pure white leather upper, and speckled tech grey and black midsole makes this simple colourway really pop; and these should be a must-cop staple for most sneakerheads this season. I’ve been looking forward to these since the sample pictures came out last year, and y’all should know by now that I can’t resist a release with speckles; can’t wait until these bad boys are finally in my collection.

White/Black/Cement Grey J IV Release Confirmed

The release of the White/Black/Cement Grey Jordan IV release has been confirmed for February 2012, although we can see a faded speckle on the sample the official release will feature the Black speckle, this particular colourway of the IV has not been seen since 1999 so here’s hoping the quality is on par with the ’99 release!
