Feud of the Food

I enjoyed writing my Battle of the Bows post so much that I decided to create another one along the same lines, this time looking at a different subject, something that combines two of my favourite things… FOOD AND KICKS!!

Reebok Freestyle Hi ‘Sushi’

For starters, this pair looks very tempting. I am absolutely loving the attention to detail Reebok have given to this Japanese cuisine inspired shoe. Down to the sesame seed Velcro straps these trainers have got me hungry for more- and I mean it, I really want some Sushi now…

Reebok Freestyle Hi ‘Neapolitan’

I skipped main course and headed straight for desert. I really like this ice cream theme, but for me just to make these girls a little bit more tasty some added sprinkles would have been cool. The matching laces to this colourway are a real nice touch though.

Reebok Freestyle Hi ‘San Valentine’

Originally a release for Valentine’s Day these kicks are definitely cute and I love the gold detail but being the sneaker freak that I am, I’m not sure I could deal with the chocolate dipped toes, its just something about them that makes them feel unclean… this is highly irrational, but I would just prefer to see these on someone else’s feet!

Reebok have come out with some super cool themed shoes in the last few years and I don’t think I’m the only one who misses them… Send in your photos if you have any hotties you’d care to share!

Enjoy and keep it Big Eyes

Who Ate All The Pies?

Ok, so British Pie week started this week running from March 5th until March 11th. I would be an extremely happy lady if I woke up in the morning to find a huge Lemon Meringue Pie and a matching pair of trainers (perhaps these Filament Green Lemon Air Max 1′s) sitting on my doorstep.

@HayelyMcCarthy

Hi, My Name Is…

So I’ve been posting for a while and as Yani’s away (making me extremely jealous) at Outlook festival I’m going to be posting a lot, so I figured I should introduce myself.

I’ll keep it short and sweet. I’m Elissa (or ElissaKB) and I’m from London. I have a lot of love for grime music, M&Ms, camouflage print and Air Max 1s. I met Yani while I was down at FWD>> celebrating my 20th birthday and immediately noticed her sick Jordan XIIIs. We got talking and here I am today writing this!

I am willing to travel to the darkest corners of the Earth for a pair of the “Atmos Elephant Safari” Premium Air Max 1 BEASTS in the picture above, so if anyone’s got any info as to where I can get them from (or hook-ups!) tweet me @ElissaKB!

Crooked BBQ

It’s BBQ season and we all know what that means.. Our favourite online sneaker store/magazine/community Crooked Tongues is putting on a party!

Not only is there going to be gooooood food, but CT are teaming up with a brand that us Big Eyes girls clearly love.. NSW!

Keep your Big Eyes and fresh Little Soles right here for more info as and when we get it!!

Jordan III ‘The Icing On The Cake’

No, unfortunately it’s not a new colourway of Jordan III, it’s just an immensely amazing and delicious cake that my friend made me for my birthday last Friday!!
I couldn’t miss the opportunity to share it with you guys because I know all you sneaker fanatics will appreciate how rad this beast looks, and just for the record it tasted ridiculously good as well!

If you live in the Manchester area (UK) and you’re interested in a cake as good as this for somebodies birthday celebration, you can contact ‘Cupcake Flick’ on her Facebook page.

Nothing To Do With Sneakers.

As I said, nothing to do with sneakers or the usual Big Eyes ish, I just thought I’d share my days events with you all.

So here we go… today I tattooed my own finger (hold on I was wearing my safari print AM1′s – it is about sneakers after all) and made a gangsta ice-cream shake… pretty good day to be fair.

Boxpark

Yesterday when I was walking past Shoreditch High Street Station, I noticed a sign saying Boxpark and wondered what it was.
So today I’ve been researching and was pleasantly surprised!

So this pop-up mall will be arriving in Shoreditch in August this year, and ‘aims to become part of the fabric of local life by adding colour, creativity and a life of its own.’
I personally think it’s so exciting and where else to place it than this up and coming area. Yes some say Shoreditch is full of ‘hipsters’ and maybe it is, but I still love East London ( even though I might be slightly drawn to it because it’s where my family are from).
This new shopping creation will fit in perfectly in this area as people will accept and embrace it. Brick Lane and the surrounding areas are so vibrant, creative and exciting and full to the brim with amazing, interesting, different people. I really like the idea of the people who will be running Boxpark, going out searching for independent designers and local creative organisations to fill the spaces and not simply bringing in high street pop up stores. It’s about time people started working as communities and the ‘little people’ who work so hard and are so good at what they do, were recognised!

In their words ‘Boxpark strips and refits shipping containers to create unique, low cost, low risk, ‘Box shops’. Put them together with a unique mix of international fashion, arts and lifestyle brands, galleries and cafés and you’ve got the world’s first ‘pop-up’ mall – so named because its basic building blocks are inherently movable: they can, and will, literally pop up anywhere in the world!
Boxpark is radical stuff. It’s not some run-of-the-mall shopping centre. It’s a living, fertile community of brands, packed with talent, innovation and attitude that puts creativity and fashion back where they belong: on the street.’

I’m so excited to see the finished product and who will be involved! Keep your eyes peeled and let us know what you think!

Candy Cakes

Today I passed by the same cake shop I see every time we go to Carnaby Street… only this time, I went in!
Double Choc Cupcake

Fudge mmmmm and that icing looks AMAZING!
Not much more to say.. I can’t wait to eat it!

Get yours here!

Velvet Brown

I’m always checking Titolo to see what new stock they have.. and this is the latest sneaker added to their vast collection..
Nike Air Max 1 ACG – Velvet Brown

Nike have mixed up the ACG styles with various Air Max sneakers recently and these are definitely up there with my favourites!
I’m not too sure about the lacing, however that doesn’t matter, these are sick!
The brown suede looks so chocolatey and warm! Such a smart sneaker, would definitely go with any outfit!
Slightly masculine but I’m sure we could make them look girlie! The little pale yellow details really accentuate the deep brown upper… they look tasty!
