Release Date: 21.01.13
Format: 12” / Digital Download
10 years on from the release of the original, we are extremely proud to
announce the launch of our label with a selection of reworks of
Youngstar’s seminal ‘Pulse X’ featuring Visionist, Blackwax, Slackk,
Pedro 123 and Elsewhere.
Widely considered to be the first grime track ever made, ‘Pulse X’ is
one of the most important, influential and recognizable tracks the scene
has ever birthed, igniting a new wave of innovation out of the ashes of
UKG. Its sparse 808 snares and visceral, distorted bass tones would go
on to inform the direction of the embryonic genre and flow through the
tracks of hundreds of imitators in its wake right through to this day.
It is testament to the lasting impact of the track that it still
regularly draws rewinds in clubs every weekend, finding its way into the
bags of an incredibly diverse range of DJs.
With Youngstar having generously given us the parts to work on this
project as part of our remix EP series, we have now commissioned five
producers to take THAT bassline and put their own unique spin on it. The
result is this, a five-track remix EP paying homage to one of the most
important underground tracks of the last ten years and drawing
connections between one of grime’s originators and a generation of
producers influenced by him.

So tomorrow (8th December) see’s the release of the Jordan Spiz’ike in a fresh colourway, Black/University Gold (which will also be a GS release so good news for little feet)!
The shoe carries a smooth black suede base with patent leather cement elements around the toe and on the side of the heel. University gold highlights the eyelets, Jumpman logo and the gold stitching to really make them POP!
Sleek and sophisticated. That’s my anatomy of these Spiz’ikes.
Most of us are very familiar with the inspiration behind the Spiz’ike, but for those who need enlightening…. the Jordan Spiz’ike shoe is inspired by Director Spike Lee’s Mars Blackmon commercials for Nike in the 90′s. The Spiz’ike combines a few iconic elements of the Jordan III, IV, V, VI and XX to make this beauty.
Seein as it’s my birthday tomorrow, I can’t think of a better release to bless my day with :)
They will be available directly from Nike.com from the 8th of December (tomorrow!) so go check it and cop yourself a pair of black magic!
Follow @BigEyesLilSoleson Twitter for more info and updates on up and coming releases! Also if you manage to cop a pair of these, be sure to tweet us a pic or tag us on instagram @bigeyeslittlesoles!

Not so long ago, Reebok joined forces with a few inspiring ladies such as french blogger sensation Ugly Mely, singer Nneka, MTV journalist Boss Lady, illustrator Olka Osadzinska and jewelry designer Melody Ehsani to form a collaboration with each lady on the new Reebok Betwixt MID model.
The concept for the project was for each lady to incorporate their own design desires both personal & professional and life influences onto the Betwixt MID to create their own model.
I’m proud to present the Big Eyes Little Soles readers with the elegant and stylish, Ugly Mely x Reebok Betwixt MID!
As you can see, this sneaker was greatly influenced by her most frequent form of transportation, her beautiful bicycle!
Mely had this to say on her blog about her influence behind her design:
“I immediately wanted the model to be like me and my bike as I ride it in my everyday life. I imagined my Reebok model with its same lightness, delicacy and simplicity. I took my leather bar tape, a strong but marked by purple color leather, so it gives it a feminine side. I also took the cream color of my bike and choose it for the Reebok bands framework, adding a snake skin effect.“
I absolutely adore these! Really diggin’ the feminine, sleek silhouette along side the strong colours. I’d love to get hold of a pair of these beautiful sneakers and a peice of female sneaker history!
The sneakers will be presented this October (from 1st to 30th october) at the french GalleryL’imprimerie (rue St Merri, in Paris) and also be sure to check out the Ugly Mely blog for a chance to win a pair of these beauties via her facebook competition which ends October 7th! Find out more information HERE.

The Levi’s x Nike SB Dunk Low’s are looking fresh to death! Flexin’ a black on black exterior, the shoe uses a canvas /denim look base with small flourishes of red over the Levi’s heel branding. Additional details include a co-branding insole and anther burst of red across the outsole making these look sleek and smart! Click the link at the bottom of the post for the Levi’s x Nike webpage and check out the specially created jeans and jacket for the collaboration, dope!
Demand for these are HOT with sneaker heads as they sold out pretty much straight away in NOTE Skate shop, Manchester. You can use the Levi’s store locator to find your nearest Levi’s x Nike SB distributor.

Last week was a really good week for me in terms of finding myself some real bargains:
OG 1992 Deadstock Nikes – I don’t really know much about the history of this model, however I couldn’t pass on a pair of OG’s in such good condition for less than £20. The sole has yellowed slightly which is expected of a trainer that is nearly as old as me!
Nike Huarache LE – The strap on one of my ‘royal’ huarache LE’s recently broke so I have been on the look for a replacement pair. I am still yet to find another pair in the blue/white colour way, but when this yellow/white colour way came up on eBay in my size I thought I would treat myself. Another bargain considering the demand for huaraches has risen massively as of late driving the prices up to a ridiculous level.
Gentry Humphrey was spotted wearing a new, exclusive Air Jordan IV Retro colour-way this weekend at the Quai 54 Streetball Tournament in Pairs…. but what are they I hear you ask?
Well, they appear to be a pair of Air Jordan IV Retro’s which have been designed exclusively for Mr Humphrey himself! Gentry’s Jordan 4 features a colour-way that looks alot like the Air Jordan Retro 7′s ‘Year of the Rabbit’ rockin’ the white upper with red and gold accents (freshhhhh).
You’ll also notice that the ankle features an illustration of Gentry as “G-Money”, similar to the MARS Blackmon logo as seen in 2006 on the Air Jordan IV Retro Mars Blackmon…….move over MARS, G-Money is in the house!
Shout outs to DCS for the pics! Go check his full album of the Quai 54 International Streetball Tournament, some sick shots, I wish I was there!
