Big Daddy Black Sheep

There’s a new sneaker store in Manchester City centre!

You may remember back in October I posted some news, bringing you a new sneaker / skate shop to sunny old Stockport… Well now The Black Sheep have just opened another store in the centre of Manchester!

Located conveniently between Dr. Hermans and Bench in the Northern Quarter, right where the Vans store used to be. The Black Sheep store bring shoe styles like; DC, Fallen, Etnies, Supra, Vans and clothing Brands such as Diamond x Grizzly, Heel Bruise, Neff, Primitive, Dephect and more.

Being 1 of 7 stores in the entire country to stock the Vans Syndicate range makes the store definitely one to visit, for your Syndicate cops!

Sunday 5th May held the mighty, Big Daddy Kane appearance in store for the opening day! It was a great day, full of pretty sneaker wearing girls, skaters, friends and the rest of the street. Performances from Dr. Syntax and Shotty Horrah warmed up the Mic before Big Daddy Kane stepped into the shop, kicked a freestyle for the old school heads and then had a one-on-one interview with Televised.

Everything Is Purple…

We all remember the New Balance x Sneaker Freaker ‘Tassie Devil’ release that sent sneaker heads queuing round the block in March… well….. now the Sneaker Freaker fam have unveiled a fresh, new colorway of the Air Max 1.

Flexing an suede upper sporting 3 different shades of purple and a classic white midsole these babies really are a sight for sore eyes.

Vans Animal Slip-Ons

Big eyes, really really little soles…. Now this is one for the teenie tiny feet, so Mum’s and Dad’s break out the wallet for the coolest kicks your toddler will ever wear!

I know a lot of girls and guys are going to be jealous because these aren’t for feet any bigger than a Kids UK10…. but I found these too damn cute to resist sharing with you! Man how I wish I was toddler size 4-10….

A good one for any Mum’s lookin’ to step up their baba’s sneaker game. I know if I was a toddler with monkies, panda’s and dinosaurs on my feet I would have been dancing before I was walking.

Adidas Original Superstar II ‘Desert Camo’

The Adidas Original fam have bought you another camo-tacular Superstar II colour-way in the form of the ‘Desert Camo’.

Fresh to death as ever, The Superstar II silhouette holds a Desert Camo upper with white shell toe and sole. The black laces and black leather back really compliment the classic black 3 stripes. This shoe also holds a bit more of a premium taste with a tan/brown Adidas logo on the tongue.

Nike SB x Skate Mental Dunk Hi LR “Rollerblades”

Heads up fruit-booters……

The lovely folks over at Nike SB certainly aren’t slowing down their collaborations for 2013! They have teamed up with the ‘Skate Mental’ for an unique take on the Dunk Hi LR.

The entirely white upper is complete with inline skate graphics (no particular brand, just a standard UFS frame). The midsole has the wheels emblazoned on either side and the heel gets a dab of embossing with the Skate Mental brand name. Even the strap resembles a rollerblade strap!

Check out some more detailed images below! A definite pick up for any rollerblader to have on their wall.

10 years on from the release of the original, we are extremely proud to
announce the launch of our label with a selection of reworks of
Youngstar’s seminal ‘Pulse X’ featuring Visionist, Blackwax, Slackk,
Pedro 123 and Elsewhere.

Widely considered to be the first grime track ever made, ‘Pulse X’ is
one of the most important, influential and recognizable tracks the scene
has ever birthed, igniting a new wave of innovation out of the ashes of
UKG. Its sparse 808 snares and visceral, distorted bass tones would go
on to inform the direction of the embryonic genre and flow through the
tracks of hundreds of imitators in its wake right through to this day.
It is testament to the lasting impact of the track that it still
regularly draws rewinds in clubs every weekend, finding its way into the
bags of an incredibly diverse range of DJs.

With Youngstar having generously given us the parts to work on this
project as part of our remix EP series, we have now commissioned five
producers to take THAT bassline and put their own unique spin on it. The
result is this, a five-track remix EP paying homage to one of the most
important underground tracks of the last ten years and drawing
connections between one of grime’s originators and a generation of
producers influenced by him.
