So its been a few weeks since my last post so I must apologize for that but I have been mad busy getting stuck in with my new job over at Carhartt!
I’ve been there a while now and although I’m loving being down in Covent Garden, replacing the cool kids of Shoreditch I’d become used to with the even cooler little hype beasts who stumble out of Soho, Supreme bags in hand, and come to us wanting to buy something with camo print on, the fact that we share the street with a Nike store, Size?, Offspring and Office has been causing be a few financial difficulties.
However despite my spending shame I can’t help but share with you guys my latest pick ups! They include an OG pair of all black AM 90’s, an essential for so many of us back in the day. A pair of Jordan VII’s, which made up one half of, the ‘Gold Medal Pack’ release last month. The very bright and very beautiful AM1 Cyber/Cyber colourway, and of course ‘those’ leopard Air Max ones!
All Black – Air Max 90
Gold Medal Pack – Jordan VII
Cyber/Cyber – Air Max One
Black/Sandtrap-Dark Gold Leaf-Sunburst Air Max One
So it’s over… after 16 days of Olympic hype and a closing ceremony that seemed to be created by associating acts with the first words that came into the producers head, hence ‘Fatboy Slim/octopus, and Annie Lennox/Viking boat’, many of us have been left with an Olympic shape hole in our lives.
However, fear not!
For those of us who did not manage to get their hands on any precious metal this time round, online retailer Mr. Kennedy has devised a way in which even us humble trainer lovers can get our hands on silver and gold!
Mr. Kennedy offers up the perfect Olympic worthy accessory: 24-carat gold shoelaces that retail for an eye- watering $19,000. Crafted using “ancient, artisan jewellery techniques.” The latter clearly justifying the price tag…
For those of us on a budget there is also a silver alternative which is available at for a snip at just $3000
When you purchase a pair, expect them to be delivered “by security and laced for you anywhere in the world.” – True value for money that!
If these happen to be just out of your price range there are always these Gold Mr. Lacy laces for a fraction of the price at £2.99 a pair.
They were even worn by the actual torch bearers during the Opening Ceremony Last Month! Available online at surfdome.com (International lacing services not included).
As a big fan of the Jordan IV, already getting my little feet into both the GS ‘Voltage Cherry’ and ‘White/Cement Grey Retro’ releases already his year, I was both excited and a little bit sad for my shrinking bank balance to hear of this new GS release scheduled for August!
Now Nike have gone ahead with these very cute Nike WMNS Blazer High Vintage ND in Palest Purple. The shoes features the yellow sole that we have become accustomed to with vintage blazers and looks good against pale purple canvas upper and the violet leather heel tab.The white swoosh and laces keep the blazer looking really clean though.
I think these are so cute and would defiantly recommend to any girls looking for the perfect pair of spring kicks. Grab yours here!
As one of the most anticipated sneaker drops of the year, the limited edition Nike Foamposite Galaxy’s are due for UK release tomorrow.
These bad boys have kicked up a huge fuss in the sneaker world after their US release with bids on eBay reaching seriously crazy money – $70,000 to be precise!
eBay is a popular place for fans to get their hands on these as shopping in person has proven pretty dangerous. In Orlando, Fla., a riot broke out over their midnight release. Police used riot gear to hold back the crazed shoppers, who rushed a Foot Locker store – and people think it’s just girls that go crazy for shoes!
Any-who, I’m more than satisfied with my new beautiful Galaxy leggings from Australian brand ‘Black Milk’. They sell a huge range of leggings, skirts, and dresses all adorned with beautiful digital prints. These leggings are printed with an actual photo from NASA,..pretty cool.
And what better way to honour these space jam inspired leggings than with a fresh pair of Jordan’s.
So now it seems it’s Nike’s turn to jump on the whole ‘wedged sneaker’ bandwagon with wedged Dunk. Wedged snakers a trend we have been seeing oh so much of over the last few months, and is a trend that is set to be even bigger this Summer!
I love the idea of these, something to make those of us who may be slightly vertically challenged a little bit taller whilst still being able to rock a sick pair of kicks is ideal. However in reality very few brands have managed to get it right and I’m not sure if Nike is on point either.
With only this image to go on so far I’m really hoping a closer look and a few more colour ways will have me convinced. I’d love to see a suede option maybe? I really want to love them!!
These are due to hit stores Autumn 2012
For now I shall keep on lusting over these incredible Isabel Marant sneakers that Beyonce rocked in her ‘Love on Top’ video (such a babe!). Although the £800 price tag is a bit of a bummer…
